NOXIOUS WEED NOTICE

NOTICE IS HERBY GIVEN to each and every person who owns, occupies or controls land in the Town of Vienna, County of Dane, State of Wisconsin, to cut or destroy all CANADA THISTLE, LEAFY SPURGE, and FIELD BINDWEED (commonly known as Creeping Jenny), and any other such weeds defined as noxious by County or Local Ordinance or Resolution on all lands owned, occupied or controlled by you in the said municipality at such time and in such manner as shall effectively prevent them from bearing seed, or spreading to adjoining property, as required by Section 66.0407 of the Wisconsin Statutes.

BRUSH SITE OPENING

On Saturday, April 3, 2021 the Brush Site will open for the season. The brush site will be open as usual on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month from 9AM – 2PM and followed by Wednesday afternoons from 4PM – 7PM.

The key is also available at the Town Hall during normal business hours.


OPEN BOOK & BOARD OF REVIEW

Open Book has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 2PM – 4PM

Board of Review has been scheduled to be held Monday, June 7, 2021 from 5PM – 7PM


TOWN OF VIENNA ROAD PROJECT UPDATES

Spring is here!! and with it comes road repair and construction. Last year, our main road project was the reconstruction and widening of Schumacher Road. The blind hill was lowered, the road was widen and culverts were replaced. This spring the remainder of the road, Cuba Valley to County Road V will be completed.

We will also be patching, crack filling and chip sealing in areas that need it the most. When driving, please pass with caution when approaching work zones.


WHEN YOU RENEW OR REGISTER YOUR VEHICLE:

Verify that the vehicle your are registering is clearly stated that you reside in the Town of Vienna.

The Town of Vienna does not have a wheel tax but the information aids the state in the following ways:

  • collect local county sales and use tax
  • comply with the Federal Clean Air Act requirements for vehicle emissions testing in certain areas of the state
  • collect county or municipal wheel taxes
  • assist local, state and federal government agencies to study demographics and assess future public needs
