CARPC Educational Forum on Farmland Preservation Planning on August 10th
The Capital Area Regional Planning Commission (CARPC) will be hosting an educational session in the Town of Dunn about farmland preservation planning on August 10th. The special event will take place at 5:30PM, prior to the regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the CARPC at 7PM. The event will feature brief presentations on topics related to farmland preservation and a short “talk-back” session. The event is open to the public.
Representatives from the Town of Dunn will present their experiences in farmland preservation planning. The presentation is an educational session that follows the CARPC’s three-part “Farmland Loss Mitigation” paper series.
Members of the public, in particular farm owners and operators and area town representatives, are encouraged to attend and to share their thoughts on the future of agriculture in our region. Public input at this event will be used to inform CARPC decision making in future budget/work program cycles. The feedback received will help determine what support and services are needed in the region that the CARPC may be able to offer.
For information or questions, contact Sean Higgins at 608-283-1267.
